A Little History

Frostbit Blue was formed in Oswego, NY in the mid to late 80's. Throughout the years, various member changes evolved into the lineup that became well known through central and southern New York with the recording of 2 popular CDs. Ice Breaker and Just What the Doctor Ordered feature the best of Frostbit Blue, with over 18,000 copies sold as of 2006.

In late 2001, bass player Benny Fiacco was added to carry on for the late Tim "Weasel" Smith. In the summer of 2004 drummer John Hoey was added when long-time member John "Valcher" Bletch retired.

CD REVIEW: Erik Viel - Off the Beaten Path
By Chip Withrow - 09/25/2007 - 02:03 PM EDT

"If an independent musician asked me for one piece of advice (none ever has, but here goes), it would be to make sure the first cut on your CD is a great one. Remember Mom and Dad saying, “You never get a second chance to make a first impression”?"

"
“I'll Be Loving You” is one of the highlights. Another vocalist, Nick Gravelding, packs the wallop this time, and this one smokes with funky jam-band intensity. Viel's multi-tracked, melodic guitars are particularly sweet."
